Request Funding

Seminole Heights Foundation, Inc. provides seed money for redevelopment/revitalization and historic preservation projects in the greater Seminole Heights area of Tampa and the gateways thereto. Funding is dependent upon monies available and/or monies that can be raised.

All funding requests are reviewed by our Board and prioritized based on positive impact on Seminole Heights and funds availability. From date of request until you receive a reply from our Board can take as long as six months. If you receive funding from us you will need to provide us complete quarterly statements showing exactly where the funds were spent and where you are in your project. On rare occasions, if the project runs significantly more than originally expected due to causes beyond your control, you may come back and request additional funding. Whether you receive it or not will depend upon the value of your project to Seminole Heights, the efficiency with which you have utilized the previously provided funds and what other requests for projects have been submitted. Our priority is to provide seed money for new projects that will further the redevelopment and revitalization of Seminole Heights.

To receive funding for your project you must provide us with the following information:

Your Legal Name and Contact information (address, phone, fax and email).

Description of the project to be funded. This should include detailed plans, if appropriate. You need to show that this is a well thought-out project for which you have done your homework prior to coming to us.

Statement of need – this should include why we should fund you and how it will impact Seminole Heights.

Amount Requested - Total estimated cost of your project and amount you are requesting. You should include the amount you will be funding and the rest should be the amount you want us to fund. Included should also be a complete budget indicating overhead expenses, cost of goods, cost of subcontractors, permitting fees, etc. In general we do not fund overhead costs.

Principals and their background – A brief background of the principals in your project including their experience in this type of project. Include information about any and all corporations/partnerships/sole proprietorships, etc. that will be involved. You do not need to include subcontractors in building projects.

Time Frame - When you expect to start the project and how long you expect it to take until completion. Also indicate at what stage you will need funds. Do you want us to fund the front end or the back end. Do you need the funds all at one time or spread over the life of the project. Ideally, for larger projects, a PERT chart indicating all the stages of the project should be included
